President of ESUH, professional esports player, and captain of the Croatian national team, Filip Babic will represent his country this weekend at UEFA eEURO 2025. For him, this is more than just a tournament – it’s another step in a long journey that combines a passion for football, professional esports, and leadership in developing the European scene.

UEFA eEURO 2025 is an official UEFA event in the EA SPORTS FC 26 discipline, bringing together the best virtual footballers from across Europe. The second stage of the online qualification will take place on October 18-19: the first day will feature the group stage played in the Swiss format, while the second day will host the playoffs in a double-elimination format. This tournament is a major event for the entire European esports community – and for Filip, it’s another opportunity to prove why he remains one of the most successful players in the Balkans.

Filip’s story is a testament to how persistence and passion for football can open a new path in esports. He was never a “typical gamer” – as a kid, he only played FIFA with his brother after real football training sessions. His professional esports journey began with his participation in the eBundesliga, where he made headlines by becoming the first Austrian champion in the tournament’s history, defeating top competitors right from the start.

From that moment, Filip proved that success is not a matter of luck but of consistent hard work. He combined his love for football with esports discipline, improving his mindset, reaction, strategy, and both physical and mental resilience. The results followed: for four consecutive years, he was the highest-ranked player from the Balkans on FIFA.gg and became the region’s only representative to qualify for the FUT Champions Cup, where he finished among the top 8 players in the world.

Throughout his career, Filip has played for leading clubs such as SK Gaming and FNATIC, winning an international major title – the Gfinity Elite Series in London. Today, he is not only a player but also a mentor: as a coach at CyberLive!Arena, he helps young talents grow and reach the international stage. Additionally, Filip previously shared his experience as an esports analyst for Sky Sports Austria, providing expert insights into the world of competitive FIFA.
